Any piece of audio gear takes time to get to know and time to learn how to get the best results. In order that you have maximum peace of mind in buying from Phædrus Audio, we have launched the Freeway no-risk purchase-scheme. In simple terms, this scheme allows you to take selected items of our gear "for a spin" and return any equipment to Phædrus Audio for three-months after purchase for a no-quibble refund†.
Various conditions apply to this scheme and they are annotated below. Please be aware of several important points concerning the Freeway no-risk purchase-scheme:
See below for our terms and conditions of the Freeway no-risk purchase-scheme.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, goods supplied under the Freeway no-risk purchase-scheme (hereinafter Freeway scheme) are supplied only on these conditions, and no variation of or addition thereto shall have effect unless it is stated in writing.
Equipment purchased under the Phaedrus Audio Freeway scheme must be paid for via PayPal. You must have a PayPal account to participate in this scheme.
Equipment returned to Phaedrus Audio under the Freeway scheme must be returned with original invoice which indicates that the equipment was purchased and enrolled in the Freeway scheme. Equipment returned under the scheme must be received back at Phaedrus Audio selected return address within ninety (90) days of the date on the original invoice. Note that not all equipment manufactured by Phaedrus Audio is eligible for the Freeway scheme and that the Freeway scheme is not automatically applied: enrolement in the Freeway scheme must be purchased at time of order and agreed in writing with Phaedrus Audio.
Equipment returned to Phaedrus Audio under the Freeway scheme must be in original (or equivalent) packaging and shipped via a reputable carrier or shipper. We recommend insurance is purchased for the return as Phaedrus Audio will not accept goods lost or damaged during the return shipping as included in the Freeway scheme. The cost of returning the goods falls to the customer returning the goods.
You must contact Phaedrus Audio for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Checks will be made that the equipment is eligible for the Freeway scheme and will inform you where to send the unit for return under the scheme. You MUST have an RMA number before you return the equipment to Phaedrus Audio. Phaedrus Audio reserve the right to refuse to accept equipment returned without a valid RMA number or where advice on shipment duty declarations has been ignored of incorrectly filed. Refused shipments will be returned to sender and any duties payable become the responsibility of the sender. Phaedrus Audio will reject equipment returned under the Freeway scheme if product serial numbers have been removed or altered, or if the product has been damaged by abuse, accident or unauthorized modification and/or repair. There are no user serviceable parts inside any of the Phaedrus Audio products. The Freeway scheme does not extend to any Phædrus Audio product that has been rendered defective as a result of: accident, misuse, or abuse; or by the use of parts not manufactured or supplied by Phædrus Audio; or by unauthorized modification or attempted repair to the product; or by acts of God/Nature (accident, fire, flood, etc) or any other condition that is beyond the control of Phædrus Audio.
It is very important customs' paperwork is filled-in correctly: Phaedrus Audio do not accept responsibility for customs charges arising from incorrectly completed paperwork and will, at Phaedrus Audio's discretion, either refuse to accept the return of the equipment, or re-charge taxes and duties arising to the customer; subtracting these from the refund value. If import duty was paid on the items when they were delivered into a territory outside the European Union, the recovery of this duty on equipment returned under the Freeway scheme is the responsibility of the customer.
A customs declaration (form CN22 or CN23) must be attached to the package or travel with it if returned from outside the EU. This customs declaration must include the following information:
The declaration must state: GOODS OF UK ORIGIN - BEING RETURNED TO SUPPLIER
Because of known issues with the smooth transit of import/export goods, the following countries are excluded from the Freeway scheme: Bolivia, Djibouti , Gabon, Niger, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Kosovo, Moldova, Argentina, Belarus , Cote d'Ivoire, Ecuador, Togo, Honduras, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Vietnam, Pakistan, Tanzania, Azerbaijan, Guyana, Russia, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan , Lebanon, Madagascar, Timor-Leste, Cameroon, Iran, Nepal, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Ukraine , Comoros, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, Guinea, Kenya, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Uganda, Central African Republic, Congo Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Myanmar, Burundi, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, Eritrea, Syria, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Haiti, Guinea-Bissau, Venezuela, Iraq, Libya, Angola, South Sudan, Sudan, Afghanistan, Korea (North) and Somalia.

The remaining percent of the purchase price is retained by Phaedrus Audio for the adminsitration of the scheme and to cover the costs of the PayPal transactions: the retained percentage is illustrated in the table below. Where charges have arisen due to incorrectly completed import/export customs and duties paperwork, Phaedrus Audio reserve the right at their discretion to re-charge taxes and duties arising to the customer: these charges will be subtracted from the refund value.
The refund will only be issued once the equipment has been returned to Phaedrus Audio according to the instructions given with the issue of the RMA number and will only be issued provided all the conditions above are fulfilled.
The refund will be issued via PayPal. Note this is the only mechanism for issuing refunds on this scheme so you must have a PayPal account to participate in this scheme. Note that the refund, like the payment, will be in UK pounds sterling (GBP).
